Crewe Alex 1 Barnet 0
CHRIS Porter's second-half strike ensured Crewe Alexandra grabbed their first victory of the season on Saturday.
The striker poked home Zoumana Bakayogo's cross to secure the three points for Dave Artell's side at Gresty Road.
The Alex looked to have succumbed to the resistance of Bees keeper Jamie Stephens, who made several saves to keep the game scoreless.
After palming away Porter's header, he also denied long-range efforts from George Cooper and Brad Walker.
Barnet hit the post through Mauro Vilhete's free-kick, but Crewe found the winner when Bakayogo's cross found Porter and he made no mistake from close range.
Crewe play their first away game of the season on Saturday when they make the short trip to neighbours Port Vale.
