GLADSTONE C moved five points clear at the Northwich and District League’s summit after their closest-rivals Castle D suffered a first defeat of the season.
The champions, conquerors of Green Dragon A, are now the only side in the competition’s three divisions to have an unbeaten record after eight rounds.
Castle D fell at Gladstone A, while Castle B strengthened their hold on third position after brushing aside Greenbank A.
There were wins too for Castle A, at Nectar’s and Gladstone B after Paul Hulmes again won a deciding frame.
A single point separates the leading teams in Division Two, where Lion B lead the way after a 5-2 win against Ban Owl B.
Witton Chimes A won by the same score at Owley Wood.
Greenbank C sit third after edging Iron Bridge, Bob Salino taking a decisive frame.
Gladstone D saw off Barn Owl E the same way after Nathan Adshead held his nerve to win a decider.
They had recovered from 3-1 down.
Lion A were too strong for their neighbours Moulton Legion in the other game played.
Barn Owl A’s advantage at the Division Three summit is worth nine points after they squeezed past Wheatsheaf.
Blue Barrel A, victors at Green Dragon B, are next in the standings.
Elsewhere Matthew Fallows won a final frame for Barn Owl H to secure a 4-3 win at Blue Barrel B, while Greenbank B edged out their hosts Broken Cross.
