Rocester 0 Winsford United 2
PLAYER-MANAGER Lee Duckworth was on the scoresheet as the Blues passed their latest pre-season test at Rocester.
Duckworth scored the first goal in Staffordshire as he smashed home a Liam Collins cross before substitute Jonathan Jones added a second goal with full-time nearing.
Winsford were able to give a run out to new signing Nathan Cotterell, who started up front and was denied by several fine saves from the Rocester goalkeeper.
The win was another plus for the Blues as they build towards the start of the new season.
After they hosted Burscough at Barton Stadium last night, Tuesday, Duckworth’s side face two more pre-season tests before their campaign gets underway with an FA Cup tie on Saturday, August 6.
They travel to Bangor City on Saturday before their final test comes at home to Northwich Victoria on Tuesday.
