TOM Schofield has accepted an offer to sign for Colwyn Bay next season, the Welsh club announced on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old was absent from Witton Albion’s midfield during the run-in last term after suffering a knee injury.
He departs after making more than 50 appearances during two spells at Wincham Park.
“We wanted him to stay and work with us,” said Witton manager Carl Macauley.
But rather than switch to the Northern Premier League’s Division One South with Albion, the former Knutsford and Trafford man will instead stay in Division One North with relegated Bay.
Macauley told the Guardian he has agreed terms with a replacement, but the deal will not be completed until July.
