LEEK Town have announced the signing of defender Darren Chadwick from Witton Albion for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old, appointed as captain by Scott Dundas in the summer, becomes the sixth player to swap Northwich for the Staffordshire club since the start of the season.
“We agreed a fee, and the paperwork has been done,” Leek boss Lee Casswell told Blues’ website.
Chadwick has made 16 starts in league and cup for Witton this term, scoring once.
He asked to leave after Dundas was dismissed in September, and has been available for a transfer since.
It marks a second spell at Harrison Park – joining former Albion quintet Jon Beaumont, Lee Cropper, Niall Green, Kyle Diskin and Chris Baker – where he was a regular at the heart of Leek’s defence last season.
Before that he had played for Dundas at Norton United, helping them to promotion from the North West Counties League in 2014.
