DEPLETED Winnington Park, missing players attending captain Pete Evans’ wedding, could not build on a dramatic victory seven days earlier.
They struggled to contain their guests at Sir John Deane’s College before the break, and trailed at the interval.
A positive start to the second period, with midfielder Danny Hancock orchestrating their best moves, was interrupted by a controversial penalty stroke award in the visitors’ favour.
Wilmslow duly doubled their lead.
However Park replied instantly, when Sam Turley found the net from a penalty corner.
They were unlucky not to level through Jack Smith before the away team added a decisive third goal late on.
Winnington slip to eighth in the table as a result North League Division Two West as a result, a position they will hope to improve by beating Alderley Edge seconds on Saturday, push back 12.30pm.
