Davenham 216-7
Stockport Georgians 174-8
Davenham's second string, led by the young talent at the club, produced a strong performance to start the season.
In an impressive total it was the three junior members of the team who showed how it should be done.
The star performance came from 16-year-old Luke Cookson who timed the ball to all parts of the ground in a rapid 62.
His support came in the form of the two other U18s in the side.
James Loveridge (49) and Ben Hodkinson (39)showed why Davenham continue to show faith in their excellent youth setup.
In response Stockport stated slowly, losing two early wickets.
A half centaury from their skipper briefly left them in hope of a win before Paul Wright (3-38) and Luke Cookson (3-28) once again took the game away from then.
Stockport then shut up shop and Davenham were unable to prise the last two wickets they needed for a win.
Points: Davenham 16, Stockport 11.
