THEY may not feel like celebrating following Saturday’s defeat, but 1874 Northwich duo Matthew Conkie and Michael Brandon were announced as award-winners the previous evening.
Conkie has been picked as best goalkeeper in Division One for the second successive month.
The North West Counties League announced on Friday that a sequence of five consecutive clean sheets during November had secured first prize for the 33-year-old.
“He won in October but his club did not hesitate to nominate him again,” said a spokesman.
“Five clean sheets on the trot is a fine achievement, and no doubt that Matt’s teammates appreciate his immense presence, confidence and ability.”
Leading scorer Brandon receives the player of the month plaudits as a reward for his nine goals, plus half a dozen assists, during 1874 Northwich’s six matches in all competitions.
Last weekend, Ian Street was presented with a memento to mark winning Division One manager of the month for October.
