AS the summer season of rose fetes and carnivals draws to a close, the Guardian’s Remember When section takes a look back to yesteryear.
Reader Carolyn Haward sent in this picture of her mother Dorothy Haward, neé Wakefield, from when she was crowned Northwich Rose Queen in 1929, aged 12.
Dorothy is still well and now lives in Felixstowe, Suffolk.
