The announcement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a baby features prominently on the front pages on Tuesday.

The Daily Mail says Meghan has been showing off a “glow” – and carries a picture of her “beaming with joy” as she arrived in Sydney on Monday for the start of her and Harry’s 16-day tour.

“Mum’s the word”, says The Sun, as it reports that Princess Eugenie’s wedding guests were sworn to secrecy when the couple revealed the happy news to family on Friday.

The Daily Mirror warns that the duchess will be on a carefully-planned schedule during the tour as the pair prepare to visit Fiji and Tonga, where expectant mothers are advised not to go to due to the Zika virus.

The paper says the couple sought medical advice.

“Great expectations”, the Daily Telegraph declares, alongside a photo of a smiling Meghan in Sydney.

The paper leads, however, on a review of hate crime laws, which will investigate whether ageism or misogyny should be recognised as hate crime offences.

The Daily Express says criminals who prey on the elderly could face longer jail terms following the review.

Meanwhile, The Times reports that the head of the Commons standards committee is calling for John Bercow to resign as Speaker after a report found “disturbing” allegations of sexual harassment by MPs had been “tolerated and concealed”.

The inquiry found “damning findings on toxic culture” in the House of Commons, the i says.

The Guardian leads on a so-called “frantic final rush” by Theresa May to save her Brexit negotiating strategy after she admitted talks had ground to a halt over the UK’s insistence on a Northern Ireland-only backstop.

The Metro says the PM ruled out creating a customs border with Northern Ireland, even if it was a last resort.

Elsewhere, the Financial Times reports that Donald Trump dispatched his top diplomat to Saudi Arabia to “get to the bottom” of the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
