LONG-SERVING staff at Sir John Deane’s College were honoured in a special end-of-term ceremony.
An event was held to recognise the long service of a number of Sir John Deane’s staff.
Pauline Lowrie, second in computing and biology, is the college’s longest serving staff member, having worked at the college for 30 years.
Andy Marshall, head of art and design, has been at the college for 24 years while Anne-Marie Dibben, IT systems manager, and Ruth Smith, art and textiles technician, have both worked at SJD for 25 years.
Three cleaners, Sandra Burrows, Jane Sproston and Maureen Sandbach, have all clocked up 20 years with the college.
“The level of loyalty and dedication to Sir John Deane’s that these colleagues have shown is truly outstanding and says a lot about the great college community we have here,” said principal Kerry Kirkwood.
“It was wonderful to bring all our staff together to recognise their commitment and reward the difference they have made to the college.”
Everyone was presented with a celebratory crystal and was given gifts they had chosen from John Lewis.
