A NORTHWICH man has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs after a massive police operation across the north west.

Officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (Titan) arrested 10 men and one woman on suspicion of drugs, firearms, violence and money laundering offences on Thursday.

Titan’s raids across the region followed a covert investigation into serious and organised crime.

Six men have since been charged, including 43-year-old Alan Bentley, of Eton Court, in Northwich, who has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

He has been given court bail and will appear at Preston Magistrates′ Court on Thursday, October 25.

A 49-year-old woman from Northwich who was also arrested on Thursday has been released without charge.

Detective Superintendent Jason Hudson from Titan said: “This operation shows our continued determination to tackle gun crime and high level drug trafficking in the north west.

“We will rigourously pursue anyone believed to be involved in serious and organised crime and appeal to members of the public with any information about illegal activity across the North West to call police so we can take action against those responsible.”

Officers from Titan, assisted by officers from Merseyside, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester, executed search warrants in Southport, Ainsdale, Anfield, Wallasey, Huyton, Banks, Aughton, Woodhouses, Hyde and Stockport.

The arrests are linked to the policing operation that saw 13 people charged following warrants executed by Titan across Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Manchester on 27 September 2012.

Anyone with any information in connection with this activity is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
