LUCK deserted Winsford as they crashed at Colne on Saturday.
Blues battled back from two-goals down to restore parity, only for Lee Duckworth’s unlucky own goal to gift victory to the hosts.
Lois Maynard headed past goalkeeper Andy Jones in the first half too.
He glanced a punt forward into his own net in the second minute, Colne doubling their lead when Patrick O’Brien scored direct from a free kick.
Duckworth headed down debutant Paul Pearson’s corner for Maynard to make up for his earlier misdemeanour on the half hour, then Andy Hurst applied the finishing touch to Andy Keogh’s assist.
But Duckworth diverted a free kick past Jones with time running out to cost Blues a deserved draw.
Winsford Jones (GK), Blair, Maynard, Duckworth, McDonnell (Drummond 63), Pearson (Egan 63), McGonigle, Bennett, Matthews (Toole 76), Keogh, Hurst. Subs not used Harrison (GK), Dickson. Attendance 56.
