A PORTRAYAL of life during the First World War is coming to Byley just weeks after Middlewich’s successful Wartime Weekend.

Byley Players will be presenting ‘The Accrington Pals’ by Peter Whelan between October 10 and 13 at Byley Village Hall in Moss Lane.

Jack Stock, a member of the amateur group, said: "This poignant and harrowing play is set in the early years of The First World War and depicts both the experiences of the men at the front and the women who were left behind to face the inevitable social change.

“The Accrington Pals portrays the devastating effects of war in a typical Lancashire mill town and the suffering of everyday people."

Performances start at 7.30pm (doors 7pm). Tickets cost £6 and are available by calling 01477533293 or 01606835582 or by sending an email to byleyplayers@live.co.uk
