CHILDREN of Lostock Tiny Tots pre-school are smiling again after receiving not one, but two new school signs.

Both staff and pupils were left heartbroken when, in September, their school sign was stolen just days after being erected.

The school, which has been providing childcare in Lostock Gralam for 20 years, recently moved from its former home next to Lostock Gralam Primary School to the Vicarage on Station Road.

The sign had been fitted on the former site to inform families where the school is located, and had been met by great excitement by all the children.

But when the school reopened after the summer holidays, staff and pupils were left distraught when they noticed the sign was gone.

Now, after an appeal in the Guardian, Lostock Tiny Tots has been given two new signs, thanks to kind donations.

“The children at the school are delighted to have not one, but two new signs now,” said school supervisor Sandra Waterhouse.

“One of the signs has been made and donated by grandparents of a child who used to come to the pre-school. They were shocked to read what had happened in the Guardian and decided to help out.

“The second sign has been made for us by 3D Solutions at Hartford business centre - I was so happy when I collected it, so happy that strangers are offering their help.

“It makes me all warm and fuzzy to know that there are still decent people out there.”
