BANK staff swapped suits for paint brushes and hand saws when they undertook a gardening project at St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford.

Staff at Barclays in Knutsford came to the rescue of the charitable organisation for the second time this year, helping with the felling of some conifers that had outgrown their surroundings.

They also painted garden furniture and fence paneling to help them endure the winter weather.

Sara Evans, manager of volunteer support at St Luke’s, said: “The Barclays team really got involved to help us with our tree felling project.

"It was great that they could come back again to the Hospice once the birds had stopped nesting and it was the right time to do the work.

"We are very grateful to have such great support.”

Tony Wood from Barclays in Knutsford said: “I am very grateful to my colleagues for helping me support this very worthy cause for a second time this year.

"I think it is fantastic that Barclays supports us in so many activities to work closely with our local community to achieve something we all hope will make a real and lasting difference”.
