A SHORT track of narrow-gauge steam railway offered a taster of what a new park and ride scheme might look like in Nantwich.
A railway was temporarily setup outside St Mary's Church in the town, offering free rides to members of the public.
The demonstration was to publicise a proposed 'Nantwich Crossrail' narrow-gauge railway link, from Nantwich Methodist Church on Hospital Street, to St Mary's Church, near the town centre.
The proposed route would extend the current track at the Methodist church - linking Morrisons shoppers with the town centre.
The steam locomotive - 'Mushy Pea' - was driven by Paul Durant, a Methodist parishioner and South Cheshire Model Engineering Society member.
