TOWNSFOLK will be able to find out more about regeneration hopes for Northwich at a presentation next month.

Representatives from the newly-formed Regenerate Northwich group will speak at the Rotary Club of Northwich’s meeting, on September 20.

Clive Steggel, from CRS Consultants, in Dane Street, is a member of Regenerate Northwich and the Rotary Club.

He said: “The Rotary Club is heavily involved in doing things on the charity side in Northwich and doing so much for the youth.

“This is about getting more involved in the activities of Northwich and encouraging more people to get involved in local things.

“Rotary meetings are a way of finding out what’s happening locally.”

Regenerate Northwich is made up of representatives from Northwich Town Council, NPL Estates, Brunner Mond, Northern Rail, Mersey Forest, Groundwork Cheshire, Mid Cheshire College, River Weaver Navigation Society, Development of the Arts in Northwich (DAN), CRS Consultants and Bulcock Accountants.

It aims to work with the new Weaver Valley Partnership Board, set up by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC), to reinvigorate Northwich.

Clive said: “I’ve been associated with Northwich since we moved here in 1954 when I was a six-year-old.

“I did most of my schooling in Northwich and started the business in 1977 – I would like to expand the premises in Northwich.

“I love it, I think it’s a great place.”

Members of the public are welcome to the presentation, which will take place at Winnington Rec on September 20, from 12.30pm.

Admission is £7.50, which includes a buffet lunch.
