POLICE are clamping down on festive crime this Christmas.
Officers across eastern Cheshire are keen to keep crime down over the festive season and will be targeting shoplifters, pick pocketers, drink drivers and drunken and anti-social behaviour.
Chf Insp Peter Crowcroft, head of neighbourhood policing in eastern Cheshire, said: “There is no good time to be a victim of crime, but over Christmas it can seem even worse.
“We are doing everything we can to make sure there are as few victims as possible, and we are asking people to take common-sense precautions.”
Police will be increasing patrols in towns across the region in a bid to keep criminals at bay.
