A NEW Northwich Costa Coffee is now open on the site of a closed-down charity shop.
The coffee shop chain's new outlet is now open on Kingsmead Square off Regency Way.
Once Barnardo's, it is a near neighbour of a number of other businesses like Abbey Dental, Ark Vets, Busy Bees, Tesco Express and Well Pharmacy.
There is also additional footfall from alternative food and drink businesses such as Cross Over Golden, Dominos, The Jolly Roger and The Kingfisher.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: "We are particularly proud to be bringing these premises back into use and contributing to the ongoing development of Kingsmead."
An application for advertisement consent for three internally illuminated signs is still under consideration by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
It does not appear to have been approved yet although the signage was already on the shopfront for the opening day on Thursday, November 5.
Around nine full-time and part-time jobs have been created and there is the potential for more to be created by further recruitment in the future.
In addition there is a chance for charities, clubs, community groups and other organisations to collaborate with the coffee shop on their events.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: "We see this opening as an opportunity to invest not only in a business but also in a community around us."
Currently there is a consultation on Cheshire West and Chester Council's planning portal and a decision is due at a later date.
