A WINSFORD man is to run five kilometres every day for almost five months for a cause close to his heart.
Christian Harris's mum Julie Harris has had a breast cancer diagnosis as a result of a routine mammogram.
The 35-year-old is to run five kilometres every day between Thursday, October 29, and Sunday, March 7.
The Mother's Day finish is around the same time as his mum should switch chemotherapy for radiotherapy.
He told the Northwich and Winsford Guardian: "My target was £650, or £1 per kilometre, or £5 per day, but that was achieved on day one. I set the new target but that was also achieved before the challenge so now the new target is £2,150."

Winsford will be the setting for the majority of the runs but there will be other runs with the Club Seven Run Club, based at The Gate Inn in Winsford, and with the Press On Run Club, based at Press in Hartford.
Christian is also planning to do number of parkruns over the weekends and for professional reasons he is pulling on his running shoes in far-flung foreign countries such as Finland, Norway, Sweden and Spain.

The Barcelona Marathon is a week after the end of the endurance challenge and he is set to be on the start line for that too.
There will be an opportunity to track him throughout on Instagram (@ChrisHarris_90) and on Strava (Chris Harris, Winsford).
He told the Northwich and Winsford Guardian: "That is 130 days, 650 kilometres and one very personal reason to keep going."
Christian's fundraiser for Breast Cancer Now is up to a total of £1,795 out of a target of £2,150 on JustGiving thanks to dozens of donors at the time of writing.
