ART without rules is coming to Northwich.
Lydia Mansell is launching A Little More Colour, a new project offering expressive, pressure-free workshops for adults and children.
She hopes to make art fun and accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
Ms Mansell said: "I have always believed that art should not come with a set of rules.
"You do not need to be able to draw, paint perfectly or have any previous experience to be creative.
"I paint through intuition and feeling, and I want to encourage other people to do the same.
"Sometimes we can be so worried about getting things right that we forget to enjoy the process.
"I want to create an environment where people feel comfortable picking up a paintbrush, experimenting, making a mess and creating something that is completely their own."
The workshops, designed for both adults and children, will offer a mix of creative experiences such as expressive abstract painting, floral-inspired art and seasonal projects.
The first workshop, Paint Like You Feel, will introduce participants to expressive abstract painting, inviting them to play with colour, texture and mark-making without worrying about right or wrong.
Ms Mansell is also working to develop free community sessions as part of the project, aiming to remove financial barriers and open up creative opportunities to even more people.
She said: "I would love A Little More Colour to become something that brings people together.
"Creativity can be such a positive way to spend time, connect with others and take a break from everyday life.

"I do not think access to art should depend on your age, experience or how much money you have to spend.
"I would love to find ways to make creative opportunities available to as many people as possible."
A self-taught abstract artist, Ms Mansell’s own work is guided by emotion, intuition and freedom of expression.
She hopes to share that liberating approach with others through the workshops.
All sessions will be held in Northwich, with options for individuals, families and groups.
In addition to welcoming the public, Ms Mansell is inviting local businesses, community groups and independent venues to get involved.
She is looking for partners who can offer space, help with materials, support a free community session or collaborate on events.
Her goal is to bring art to new settings across Northwich and build lasting connections through creativity.
A Little More Colour is expected to launch its first workshop dates towards the end of November 2026.
Further details and booking information will be released closer to the launch.
Ms Mansell welcomes enquiries from anyone interested in taking part, suggesting a session, collaborating or supporting the project.
Businesses and venues interested in hosting or partnering for workshops are especially encouraged to get in touch.
