A TRIAL date has been set for a man accused of voyeurism against a woman.

Daniel Griffiths appeared in court to face allegations that he filmed a woman and threatened to share the footage with others.

The 21-year-old, of Ways Green in Winsford, is charged with voyeurism and threatening to share a photograph or film of a person in an intimate state.

He appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court in July, where he was remanded into custody, and the case was sent to the crown court.

Griffiths appeared before Chester Crown Court on Thursday via video-link from HMP Altcourse for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

He is accused of voyeurism by recording a woman ‘sleeping in a state of undress’ in Winsford and threatening to share the footage with another person.

Due to the nature of the case, the complainant is entitled by law to lifelong anonymity and must not be named or identified.

The defendant entered not guilty pleas to both charges put to him, and a trial date was set for January 18, 2027.

He was further remanded into custody to stand trial, estimated to last three days, in the new year.
