YOUTHS involved in anti-social behaviour in Northwich have been ordered to carry out community service.
Cheshire Police has confirmed that those misbehaving were given the option of being banned from the town or community payback.
This followed CCTV being reviewed to identify those responsible, with officers continuing to look at more footage with a view to further home visits.
The force’s Northwich Police team said: “Over the past number of weeks, we have been providing anti-social behaviour updates.
“There have been a number of issues that have been reported to 101 and alerted to officers that have resulted in CCTV being captured and home visits conducted, with all involved in incidents spoken to with parents present.
“When home visits were conducted, it was discussed what action we would take and give the person involved the option to be banned from Northwich for what they have caused or conduct a service to the community affected by their actions.
“Over the past couple of weeks, we have had a number of youths working within the community.
“This has involved working inside McDonald’s to help to clear rubbish left on tables and clean them, cleaning graffiti at Barons Quay, and conducting litter picks after the Pina Colada Festival.
“All were warned that, if they were involved in further issues, then these services to the community would be longer than what they had just done.
“We are still looking into other issues that occurred within August and, once these youths are identified, home visits will occur.”
