A NEW baby and parent community is launching to help families find friendship and support.

The Baby Social Club is launching this October in Northwich and Macclesfield.

Founded by early years specialist and mum Michaela Theed, the club aims to combine expert-led sensory play with opportunities for parents to connect and build friendships in a welcoming environment.

Michaela said: "I wanted to create the kind of baby community I would have wanted when I became a mum – somewhere you could come as you are, meet people without the pressure of making friends immediately, and know that your baby is getting something valuable from the experience too.

"There are so many brilliant baby activities available, but I felt there was an opportunity to put the social side of parenthood right at the centre.

"The Baby Social Club is about babies, but it's also about the people raising them."

Weekly sessions will be held on Tuesdays at Wild Tots Play Cafe in Northwich, located at Barons Quay, and on Thursdays at The Button Warehouse on Chestergate in Macclesfield.

Each class will offer sensory play, age-appropriate developmental activities, and immersive themes, while also giving parents time to chat and connect.

The aim is to create a space where parents can arrive alone but leave feeling part of a community.

The club will also host seasonal events, parent meet-ups, expert-led workshops, strolls, and other community experiences throughout the year.

Michaela holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and a PGCE in Early Years.

She has worked as an early years teacher, nursery deputy manager, and nanny.

Her professional background informs the club’s approach to sensory play and child development, ensuring activities are both enjoyable and rooted in early learning principles.

Initially launching in the two towns, the Baby Social Club has plans to expand across Cheshire and nearby areas.

The long-term goal is to become a well-known community hub for modern parents, offering not just weekly classes but a full calendar of events and opportunities to learn, play, and connect.

The club’s philosophy is simple: turn your baby's social life into your social life.
