WEAVERHAM High School received its best-ever results on this year's GCSE Results Day.

Head teacher Clare Morgan recognised the achievement as a 'significant milestone' for the Class of 2026 and a testament to the school's commitment to high-quality education.

She said: "Today’s results show what is possible when a community bound by shared values comes together with ambition, determination and a relentless commitment to excellence.

"We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Year 11 students.

"These results reflect the dedication and resilience they have shown throughout their time at Weaverham High School.

"They have embraced opportunities, overcome challenges and worked tirelessly to achieve outcomes of which they should be immensely proud.

"I am particularly delighted by the students who have significantly exceeded their expected grades.

"Each student’s journey is unique, and it has been a joy to witness the confidence and growth they have gained along the way."

High achievers include Annie Smith, who earned eight grade 9s and two grade 7s and will go on to study at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College.

Charlie Wheat achieved two grade 9s, four grade 8s, and two grade 7s, and will study at Priestley Sixth Form College.

Ms Morgan also credited staff and families for their support.

She said: "I am grateful for the brilliant team of teachers and wider staff here at Weaverham, along with the kind and supportive parents, carers and wider school community.

"Together, we have supported our young people to achieve their very best.

"Whilst we celebrate academic success, we are equally proud of the confident, respectful and ambitious young people our students have become.
