Two primary schools have been recognised for their commitment to building essential life skills in the classroom.
Grange Community Nursery and Primary School and The Oak View Academy in Winsford have both received Silver Awards from the Skills Builder Partnership.
A national scheme that celebrates schools embedding skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and speaking into the curriculum.
Dr Michael Englard, UK CEO at Skills Builder Partnership, said: "Congratulations to Grange Community Nursery and Primary School and The Oak View Academy.
"It’s been a privilege working with them as they build essential skills into the work of their school."
This year, just 60 schools and organisations nationwide received either Gold or Silver Awards for their dedication to essential skills education.
Grange Community Nursery and Primary School was honoured for embedding essential skills education across all classes from Early Years to Key Stage 2.
The school integrates the skills framework into literacy, numeracy and science lessons, supports the approach with assemblies, and recognises pupil achievement through weekly awards.
Staff carry out termly digital assessments to inform planning, while pupils benefit from career days and visits from industry professionals.
The Oak View Academy was recognised for its work embedding the programme across both mainstream and specialist resource provisions.
The academy uses regular digital assessments to set termly skill priorities for each key stage.
Essential skills branding is integrated across lesson materials, marking tools and home communications.
Learners also have the chance to see essential skills in action through visits from professionals and educational trips.
Essential skills education is designed to complement traditional academic subjects and better prepare students for future education and employment.
Both schools continue to develop their programmes, with ongoing staff training, pupil recognition and community engagement activities.
