A NEW nature-based learning project is giving families the chance to step into the wild before it officially opens.

Our Wild Space, founded by sisters Amy Dugdale-Wilde and Gemma Victorino-Wilde, is in partnership with Cransley School in Great Budworth and will offer child-led, outdoor experiences inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.

The space is designed to help children learn, play, and connect with nature in a hands-on environment, and will officially launch in September.

Free open days will be held to introduce the public to the site before its official opening.

Amy, co-founder of Our Wild Space, said: "As parents and educators, we've seen first-hand that children thrive when they're given time, space, and freedom to explore.

"Our Wild Space has been created to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and give children meaningful experiences in nature that they will remember long after they've gone home."

The open days will take place on Tuesday, August 25, from 1pm to 3pm, and Saturday, August 29, from 10am to 12pm.

Activities for children will include creative crafts, den building, loose parts play, mud kitchens, storytelling, and campfire experiences.

Each session is designed to encourage exploration and discovery at the child’s own pace.

The project has been shaped by the sisters’ experiences as mothers of neurodivergent children and their backgrounds in education.

They aim to create a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can feel valued and learn in their own way.

Gemma, co-founder and teacher at Cransley School, said: "Partnering with Cransley School has allowed us to create something really special for local families.

"We wanted to develop a beautiful outdoor environment where children can slow down, build confidence, ask questions, solve problems, and simply enjoy being outdoors."

Our Wild Space will offer a variety of outdoor learning programmes, including home education sessions, family stay-and-play sessions, and after-school enrichment clubs.

Families interested in attending an open day are encouraged to book in advance, as space is limited.

Our Wild Space welcomes all children and families and is committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing environment where children’s curiosity and interests are placed at the centre of their learning experience.
