A CHARITY has launched its biggest yet online summer auction.
St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford has kicked off its fundraiser, giving supporters the chance to bid on more than 40 prize lots.
The auction will go live at 7am on Friday, July 31, and will run until 9pm on Friday, August 14.
Every prize has been donated by businesses, organisations, and individuals, with all proceeds supporting patient care at the hospice.
Joanna Crofts, community fundraiser at St Luke’s, said: "This year’s Online Summer Auction is set to be our biggest and most exciting yet.
"We’ve been absolutely blown away by the generosity of local businesses and supporters, who have donated an incredible range of prizes – from unique experiences to truly luxurious treats.
"With more prize lots than ever before, there’s something for everyone to bid on.
"Most importantly, because every prize has been kindly donated, all funds raised through the auction will go directly towards patient care at the Hospice."
Last year’s auction raised more than £4,500.
This year’s prizes include a trip for two down the Winsford Salt Mines, VIP packages at Sale Sharks Rugby Club and Crewe Alexandra Football Club, a seven-night Eurocamp holiday, a private flight experience, and a deluxe bed and breakfast stay at Cranage Hall.
St Luke’s will be promoting prizes daily on its social media channels throughout the fundraising period.
The hospice supports adults in mid and south Cheshire with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, providing care for patients as well as support for families, including children and carers, both before and after bereavement.
In addition to its core patient care services, St Luke’s operates a day hospice that supports 150 people each week.
Services include a complementary therapies clinic, a counselling team, social work team, and a Lymphoedema clinic.
The charity relies almost entirely on donations and needs to raise £16,808 per day to continue offering free care.
Of every £1 donated to St Luke’s, 85p goes directly to patient care, while the remaining 15p helps to raise another pound.
