A STUBBLE field and a hedgerow on the edge of Moulton have been ravaged by fire.

Two fire engines, one each from Northwich and Middlewich fire stations, were called to reports of a blaze on agricultural land off Niddries Lane, to the south of the village, at 8.10pm on Thursday, July 16.

On arrival, firefighters found a stubble field and an adjacent hedgerow well alight, which they tacked with a hose and hand-held appliances.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in a field in Northwich.

“The fire involved a field of cut straw, with crews using a hose reel and hand appliances to put the fire out.”
