A MID Cheshire pub is among the 500 best pubs in the country according to a national newspaper.

The Lion pub, in Moulton, is one of hundreds of pubs to receive recognition from The Telegraph.

The list is assembled based on criteria including 'award-winning beer' and 'charming character', as assessed by a panel who have tried and tested thousands of watering holes.

The Lion team are no strangers to success as it is a two-time branch pub of the year for North Cheshire CAMRA with over a decade on the bounce in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

Alpraham’s Travellers Rest, Alsager’s Lodge Inn, Chester’s Albion Inn, Chester’s Olde Cottage Inn, Macclesfield’s Castle, Nantwich’s Black Lion and Neston’s Harp Inn are the others on the list in Cheshire.
