A TRAIN station has undergone a temporary rebrand with a football twist.
Holmes Chapel station in Cheshire has been renamed 'It's Coming Holmes Chapel' by Northern as the train operator gets behind England ahead of their semi-final clash with Argentina.
New signs have been installed around the station, with staff joining in the fun ahead of a nail-biting night for fans across the region.
Alex Hornby, commercial and customer director for Northern, said: "It's coming Holmes Chapel!
"With England taking on Argentina in the semi-final, we wanted to give our customers something to smile about on the way to wherever they're watching the game.
"On a more serious note, we're encouraging as many fans as possible to leave the car at home and travel by train, whether that's heading into town for the atmosphere or just getting home safely after full time."
The campaign is part of Northern’s wider effort to spread positivity and encourage fans to travel by train, whether they’re heading to pubs, fan zones or making their way home after the final whistle.
Mr Hornby said: "We'll have trains running late into the evening to help everyone get home once the football's finished, but remember to check your last train times in case it goes to extra time or penalties."
Northern operates rail services across the North of England, connecting communities to major towns and cities, and is advising fans to plan ahead and check timetables before travelling.
The operator is also reminding customers that some late services could be busier than usual on matchday.
The station will return to its original name once England’s fate in the tournament is decided, whether they bring home the silverware or not.
