A HOUSEBUILDER has launched a new charity partnership to support outdoor learning and green spaces.
Miller Homes North West began its collaboration with environmental charity Groundwork with a hands-on volunteering day at Grozone Community Garden in Northwich, on Wednesday, July 8.
Staff helped maintain the garden with hedge trimming, wildflower area care, footpath repairs, composting improvements, and preparing new planting areas.
The team also worked to improve accessibility around raised beds, ensuring the space remains welcoming for visitors of all ages and abilities.

Clare Horbury, regional sales director at Miller Homes North West, said: "We’re proud to be launching our charity partnership with Groundwork in the North West and to be doing so in such a hands-on way.
"It was incredibly rewarding to spend the day maintaining and improving a space that will help more children and families benefit from outdoor learning through Groundwork’s Wellies in the Woods programme."
She said Groundwork’s mission closely aligns with the company’s own values.
Ms Horbury said: "Groundwork closely aligns with our purpose of creating places where people and planet prosper.
"As a responsible developer, we’re committed to supporting nature and enhancing the communities where we build, and this partnership is a great example of how we can make a positive difference together."
The volunteering day marks the first activity as part of Miller Homes North West's partnership with Groundwork.
As part of the collaboration, the developer will provide financial support, staff volunteering, and fundraising to help grow Groundwork’s Wellies in the Woods scheme.
'Wellies in the Woods' is a national programme for under-fives that uses outdoor play to boost confidence, language, and literacy skills by connecting children with nature.
The scheme brings stories to life through affordable, nature-based activities in green spaces.

Pete Attwood, Grozone project co-ordinator at Groundwork, said: "It’s been great to welcome Miller Homes North West to Grozone.
"The team has made a fantastic contribution at Grozone today, improving the space so it can continue to support outdoor learning and community activity.
"By working together, we can create even more opportunities for children and families to experience the benefits of nature through initiatives like Wellies in the Woods."
Grozone Community Garden is located on the site of the former Dane Nurseries in Northwich and is managed by Groundwork.
The site includes wheelchair-accessible growing beds, greenhouses, a wildlife pond, an orchard, a wildflower meadow, a yurt, and an outdoor kitchen.
It also features a forest school area, making it an ideal location for outdoor learning and community engagement.
Miller Homes North West’s support will help Groundwork introduce the Wellies in the Woods programme to more families across the region.
