A RADIO show is bringing the past to life with a monthly broadcast.

Northwich Now and Then, airing on Radio Northwich, explores the town's rich history from Roman times to the present day through expert interviews, dramatic storytelling, and museum collaborations.

The fourth episode will broadcast on Friday, July 3, at 1pm, focusing on the Victorian era and Northwich’s industrial growth.

Mike Cooksley, presenter and creator of the series, said: "As well as being informative, we want to make the programmes entertaining for listeners, and during each broadcast we will be airing a micro-drama with voice actors bringing alive the people of the time."

The July episode will feature insights from local historian and author Paul Hurley, alongside John Tackley.

Produced in partnership with the Cheshire Museums Service, the series is supported by historical artefacts and displays at Weaver Hall Museum on London Road and the Radio Northwich studio at Barons Quay.

The programme combines expert interviews, storytelling, and immersive audio drama to illustrate what the town might have looked like in the past and how traces of its history can still be seen today.

Listeners can tune in on the first Friday of each month from April to December.
