NORTHWICH Rowing Club enjoyed a brilliant day of racing last weekend at the Bridgnorth Regatta.
The club sent 14 crews to the weekend and despite a lively stream, most of them enjoyed a successful time and gave the coaches and supporters plenty to cheer about.
Northwich crews took home seven victories, with several rowers winning in more than one category.
Izzy Kirk-Doran and Lily-Mai Aitkin-Sayle paired up to take victory in the women’s junior under 15s double sculls before jumping in with Josie Mee and Evie Peake and cox Flo Cooper to win the coxed quadruple sculls.
In the same age group, Cooper was again the cox for the victorious men’s quartet of Theo Bailey, Fin Ridgeway, Adam Day and Jacob Davies, the latter of whom won the single sculls.
For the under 14s, there were wins for Mel Cook (women’s single sculls) and the men’s double sculls pair of Harry Robinson and Leo Blundell while the club’s other victory came courtesy of Mirabelle Morris and Evie Peake in the women’s junior under 18s double sculls.
As well as the race wins, the club’s masters rowers also competed strongly in the quad and mixed eights.
