A RUDHEATH specialist primary school is off to a positive start after it received a report card for the first time from Ofsted.

Adventure Wellbeing School is at the expected standard across all areas after an inspection two months ago in April 2026.

The independent specialist primary school had its official opening around a year ago on Gadbrook Park off Gadbrook Road.

The pupils with special educational needs are in safe hands according to the inspection team Jane Dennis and Kevin Sexton.

Their June 2026 report card said: "Pupils' success within their personal development has a positive impact on their lives outside of school."

Adventure Wellbeing School is already in the process of applying for planning permission to add to its premises.

If successful there will be a primary section at Sherwood House and a secondary section at Charnwood House.

Andrew Gould, the director of education, said: "We are really, really proud of the result of our first full inspection.

"What we are most proud of is that the inspection team picked up on wellbeing being at the heart of what we do.

"It is about far more than teaching them English and Maths.

"It is about teaching them to be a well-rounded individual."

Mr Gould, a former head teacher, said: "A lot of people have an idea of what special education is but at our school you realise how calm it is, how happy it is.

"Now it is about the next few years before the next inspection when we want to be at the strong standard."

Under the new system nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and sixth forms receive a report card which is not directly comparable to their previous overall rating.

Rather than the overall rating there is a score in several areas on a scale of exceptional, strong standard, expected standard, needs attention and needs urgent improvement.

Adventure Wellbeing School:

Achievement - Expected Standard
Attendance and Behaviour - Expected Standard
Curriculum and Teaching - Expected Standard
Early Years - Expected Standard
Inclusion - Expected Standard
Leadership and Governance - Expected Standard
Personal Development and Wellbeing - Expected Standard
