Northwich's Harlequin Theatre to stage A Life in the Theatre

Harlequin Theatre’s latest production, A Life in the Theatre by David Mamet, runs from July 1 to 3 at the Queen Street venue with performances starting at 7.45pm each evening.

Directed by Ben Brunsdon, the play features Adrian Grace as Robert, a seasoned veteran of the theatre, and Tom Lilly as John, an ambitious younger actor.

Ben, at the helm of his fifth show at the venue, said: "I am excited to be leading my fifth production at the Harlequin Theatre.

"I was drawn to the play’s honest, witty and deeply human exploration of two thespians at very different stages of their career.

"There’s a visceral intensity to working with just two actors and Adrian and Tom’s chemistry, genuine warmth and authenticity makes the story both engaging and emotionally resonant."

Audiences will watch the pair navigate the joys and strains of a life spent on stage.

Set entirely backstage and on stage, the story explores rehearsal room rituals, professional insecurities and the unique bond between actors.

First staged in 1977, the play has charmed audiences with its humour and tenderness ever since.
