A JEALOUS ex from Rudheath sent his former partner a photo of paracetamol and vodka which made her believe he was about to kill himself.
Robert Christie’s ex immediately called the police in a state of distress, prompting officers to go around to his house where they found him fast asleep.
But it turned out he had not taken any pills.
The incident happened overnight on Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10, during a period when Christie, of Laburnum Road, had been plaguing her with unwanted calls and messages.
She told police this coincided with him finding out she had found a new partner.
On January 10, he actually turned up at her new partner’s home and, during an altercation at the front door, she ended up being knocked to the ground.
Christie, who has no previous convictions, appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 9, where he admitted one count each of stalking and common assault.
District judge, Jack McGarva, order a presentence report and remanded the 49-year-old on conditional bail with orders not to contact his ex or enter her street, or that of her new partner.
He will return to Warrington for sentencing on Tuesday, July 7.
