A RUDHEATH boat broker is starring on national TV as part of a popular series celebrating life on the UK’s waterways.

Scott Vickers, director of Northwich-based Boat Sales & More, will feature in the third series of Narrow Escapes on Channel 4.

The programme follows people whose lives are centred around Britain’s canal network, showcasing the unique lifestyle and communities found along the waterways.

Filmed on canals across Cheshire, the series captures Scott as he goes about his day-to-day work, including valuing boats, showing potential buyers around narrowboats, and handing over the keys to a couple embarking on life afloat.

Scott will appear in episodes broadcast during the final week of the series, airing from Monday, June 22.

Speaking about the experience, Scott said: “Being part of Narrow Escapes was a fantastic experience and one I'm very grateful to have been involved in.

“The production team were brilliant throughout the filming process, making everything feel relaxed and natural while doing a great job of showcasing the unique lifestyle and community that exists on our inland waterways."

Boat Sales & More specialises in canal boats and floating homes, helping customers across the region buy and sell vessels.

Scott added: “I spend every day helping people buy and sell narrowboats, so it was a real pleasure to be involved in a programme which highlights everything special about life afloat.

“I hope the series inspires more people to explore the waterways, whether it’s through boating holidays, living aboard, or even taking the step into boat ownership themselves.”

Produced by Bowled Over Media with Motion Content, the third series of Narrow Escapes promises more of its signature blend of adventure, resilience, and heart, offering viewers a unique window into one of the UK’s most distinctive ways of life

The show airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4, and is also available to stream via the broadcaster’s online platform.

Scott added: “The waterways have given so much enjoyment to me and countless others over the years, and if the programme encourages more people to discover that for themselves, then it will have achieved something really positive."
