Northwich bargain business to close after less than one year

The Outlet Shop confirmed the closure in a post on social media on Thursday, May 28.

Owner Matthew Wright said it is closing its physical store on Kingfisher Court, off Manchester Road, although it is continuing its online store which it has had for more than a decade.

It is only eight months since it started to sell stock from large businesses such as Amazon and Currys to in-person browsers and buyers for the first time in the local business's history.

At the time he said: "There is this perception online is cheaper but online is not cheaper because someone has got to pick it, someone has got to pack it.

"It is a lot more money than presenting products in a physical store where you come to them and you collect them which is why we have had this idea."

He also added: "We had two warehouses [at Kingfisher Court] and we were not getting the value out of them.

"We had two options, either we do something with the space, or we get out of the lease and give back the space."

The post on social media did not say a reason for closing but it did say it was 'with regret'.

There will still be some store openings on special occasions according to the announcement.

The post on social media said: "The doors may be closing, but the deals definitely are not."

One customer in the comments said they were 'sorry to see it go'.

And another customer in the comments said it was 'such a shame'.

They also added: "We loved to pop in and pick up some bargains."

The bargain business is at Unit 7, Kingfisher Court, Northwich, CW9 7TT. It is closing its physical store on Saturday, June 6.
