A556 lane closed by emergency services for fuel leak from HGV

ONE lane was closed on the A556 at Rudheath after a fuel leak from a heavy goods vehicle.

Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended this afternoon, Thursday.

One lane was closed on the dual carriageway close to the junction with Shipbrook Road.

The emergency services cleaned the spillage and cleared the scene with the assistance of the highways team from Cheshire West and Chester Council.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to assist with a leak from an HGV. Crews used specialist equipment to contain the leak."
