ALDI is inviting customers to help choose new store locations across Cheshire.

The supermarket chain is asking shoppers to suggest where future stores should be built as part of its nationwide expansion plans.

Aldi is investing more than £370 million in new stores this year as it works towards its long-term goal of reaching 1,500 locations across the UK.

Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: "We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re asking our shoppers to help us identify the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.

"Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay."

The supermarket chain previously ran a similar scheme last year.

To take part, customers are asked to email NextNewStore@aldi.co.uk and name the town or area they want to nominate in the subject line of the email.

Aldi is accepting suggestions until Thursday, June 18, and plans to share the results and announce the next round of priority locations later this year.

The retailer’s requirements for new sites include a prominent main road location, at least two acres of land, room for an 18,000 to 20,000sqft store, and space for at least 100 dedicated parking spaces.

Aldi also recommends a catchment area of around 15,000 residents for each new site.
