COSY TV fans have a treat in store as a loveable liveaboard narrowboater returns to our screens with episodes featuring Middlewich, Northwich, and Winsford.

The next two episodes of the new series of Canal Boat Diaries, which air on Monday, May 25, will see presenter, Robbie Cumming, arriving in Middlewich before sidestepping onto the currently cut-off River Weaver.

The much-loved waterways show chronicles the ups and downs of Robbie's chosen way of life as he travels the network in search of adventure and, in his own words, 'whatever's around the next corner'.

Robbie has lived aboard his 42-foot narrowboat, The Naughty Lass, for more than a decade now and offers viewers an honest look at the realities of life on the UK's waterway network.

In the Middlewich episode, airing at 7pm, Robbie's boat is in need of some serious repairs and maintenance as he leaves the Llangollen Canal behind him and takes on the mighty Shropshire Union and its Middlewich Branch.

The next instalment, directly after at 8pm, features his journey down the River Weaver from Winsford to Weston Point near Runcorn on a borrowed boat, Tench.

The Naughty Lass cannot make it down there due to the Anderton Boat Lift being out of service.

The episodes were filmed in 2025 before the infamous Llangollen Canal breach near Whitchurch in December.
