WE are blessed here in Cheshire to be surrounded by such beautiful countryside, and there's no shortage of fantastic farms open to the public to visit.
Here, in our latest Business of the Week feature, Holly tells us about her business and how she wants to share her love of flowers with others.
If you would like your business to feature as Business or Trader of the Week, email tabitha.wilson@newsquest.co.uk

2023

Yes

Tell me a bit about your business
It's a flower farm specialising in British-grown cut flowers.

We grow cut flowers for sale to local florists but also to the public in the form of gift bouquets, wedding flowers, sympathy flowers, DIY buckets, and we also run different events throughout the year.
The business is family-run (Image: Supplied)
Why did you decide to open your own business?
I have worked in the NHS for over 10 years, and I needed something for me and my mental health.
Initially, I didn't plan for it to be a business, but it has quickly grown into one!
What’s your business background?
Nil, my sister has her own business, so I have been asking her lots, and I have been doing courses specific to flower farming.
Why this type of business?
I am passionate about the environment, and I wanted to feel more in tune with nature.
This allows me to see the change in the seasons and be led by nature in my business.
What makes your business different from others in the same area/field? What sets your business apart from your competitors?
We are a family-run business, it's me, my mum, dad, my sister on tech support, and my husband.
We are completely transparent with what we can supply; there is no other way, as the season will dictate what we can offer.
We do not use artificial pesticides, fungicides, or fertilisers.
We practice regenerative farming methods that encourage biodiversity, and we do not use single-use plastic.
Why do loyal customers return to your business?
We're passionate about providing quality, seasonal, often beautifully scented cut flowers that are completely individual.
Customers who care about reducing their impact on the environment and their footprint, but still love fresh flowers, come to us.
What’s next? What do the next few months hold for you and your business?
We're hoping to be able to get some second-hand polytunnels to increase our growing area and space to be able to offer flowers both earlier and later in the season.
Please check out our website for events - we have pick and paint watercolour workshops and pick your own events!
We're also opening the field for the National Garden Scheme this year.
