A NEW CEO has been appointed to lead the next phase of growth at a traffic systems company.
Paul Lewis has taken the helm at Winsford-based SRL Traffic Systems, the largest manufacturer and supplier of portable and temporary intelligent traffic systems (ITS) in Europe.
Intelligent traffic systems include portable traffic lights and CCTV.
Mr Lewis brings more than 20 years of experience managing large, operationally intensive service businesses, including senior roles at HSS Hire, Industrial Cleaning Equipment (ICE), and Rentokil Initial.
He said: "I am very pleased to be joining SRL at an exciting point in its development.
"My focus is to unlock the significant growth potential of the business by building a resilient, future-proof organisation that consistently delivers high levels of service to our customers, backed by innovation that delivers real value.
"Just as importantly, I want that success to create an environment where our colleagues can thrive over the long term."
Mr Lewis joins SRL from VPS Group, a specialist in temporary security, where he served as CEO for the UK and Ireland division.
His appointment comes during a period of ongoing expansion for SRL, supported by owner 3i Infrastructure.
The company is currently growing its REMOS system, the UK’s first scalable, remotely-operated mobile signal solution, designed to enhance the safety of road workers and site personnel.

Mr Lewis is the second recent addition to SRL’s senior leadership team, following the appointment of chief financial officer Ian Hunt in December.
Based at Winsford Industrial Estate, SRL’s portfolio includes traffic and pedestrian signals, variable message signs (VMS), solar and hybrid work-zone protection barriers, and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology.
The company also offers integrated solutions such as the Urban64 traffic signal system and the Haul Route PLUS crossing.
Mr Lewis has begun his new role with a nationwide tour, meeting customers in the traffic management, construction, utilities, and events sectors, as well as visiting some of SRL’s 25 depots across the UK and Ireland.
