A REVAMPED village shop close to an ever-popular beauty spot is hosting a grand opening event.

Delamere Stores, which has been closed for more a year, is in the process of being brought back to life.

Situated near Delamere Forest and its railway station, the shop proved something of a lifeline for both residents and visitors who have had to get in their cars just to pick up a few essentials.

New owner, Tujen Ganesh, says he and his team have been working to refurbish and improve the shop, expanding the product range and creating a more welcoming space for customers old and new.

He said: “A key focus for us is supporting local businesses, and we are proud to be stocking a growing selection of locally sourced products."

The new incarnation of Delamere Stores opens fully at 8am on Saturday, May 2, but at 11am, a grand opening event will begin.

Tujen added: “We understand how important the store has been for the Delamere community, and we wanted to create an opportunity to get to know our local residents.”
