FOR many of us, there’s nothing better than a weekend walk with our four-legged friend, followed by a refreshing pint and maybe a bite to eat.

But not all pubs are dog-friendly, so it’s important to check before you head out if your precious pooch will be able to sit with you as you enjoy a well-deserved rest.

The Salty Dog

Tucked away in one of Northwich’s striking black-and-white timbered buildings, The Salty Dog has built a reputation as a small but lively independent music venue and bar.

Expect regular live gigs, craft beer, and a community feel, with dogs welcome as part of the crowd.

The Red Lion

Sitting beside the River Weaver, The Red Lion in Winsford is a distinctive, dog-friendly riverside pub known for its warm, relaxed atmosphere and home-cooked food.

Visitors praise it as an important part of the community, with dogs welcomed inside and out, water bowls on hand, and a lovely riverside walk right on the doorstep.

The Green Dragon
