A TRAPPED casualty was rescued by firefighters after ploughing into a tree near Moulton.

Two fire engines, one each from Northwich and Winsford were called out the A533, London Road, on the outskirts of Moulton at 10.52am to reports of a crash.

On arrival, the crews found a single had crashed into a tree and a casualty was trapped inside.

Firefighters used a saw to cut away parts of the tree to get access to the car and the casualty inside.

Once a route was opened up, the casualty was removed from the car and passed into the care of waiting paramedics.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were called to a road traffic collision in which one car had collided with a tree.

“Firefighters used a saw to cut away the trees for access.

“One casualty was rescued from the vehicle and handed over to paramedics.”
