DOGS and dads took centre stage at a recent community walk that raised £250.

The social dog walk, organised by The Canine Consultant, took place at Tatton Park on Sunday, March 1, and raised funds for the Davenham and Macclesfield Dads Club, a charity focused on men's mental health.

A total of 36 dogs attended the walk, with donations collected for each canine participant.

Josh Wilkinson, founder of The Canine Consultant, said: "We had a fantastic morning welcoming nearly 40 dogs and we are proud to have raised £250.

"Davenham and Macclesfield Dads Club is an incredibly important charity that means a great deal to me personally."

The Dads Club later expressed their thanks on Instagram, saying: "From all of us at the dads club we just want to say a massive thank you to the Canine Consultant for raising funds for the club at their monthly social walk this morning.

"Me and my girls had a super time and loved meeting everyone and their dogs.

"Thanks to Josh and the team!"

The event is part of a series of monthly social dog walks hosted by The Canine Consultant, who previously announced the March fundraiser in late February.

Josh said previously: "With Canine Consultant, it’s about giving something back to the local community more than anything, and any money that we can raise is beneficial."

The walk began at 10am from the Knutsford entrance of Tatton Park, with all proceeds going to the Davenham and Macclesfield Dads Club.

The charity supports men by providing a safe and confidential space to discuss mental health challenges and life experiences.

The club runs monthly meetings and social activities, helping members form connections and receive support.

Rob Garner, founder of the Dads Club, said the impact of wider community support and the group’s activities has already been significant.

Speaking previously, Rob said: "I fully believe the club has created an environment where we are supporting men's wellbeing and proving a support network and there for impacting family's in such a positive way."

The group primarily meets at the Bulls Head in London Road on the first Monday of each month.

Meetings are supported by a team that includes an employment mentor, a mediation leader, and a life coach.
