FRESH new flavours could soon be coming to some of Cheshire’s most popular outdoor attractions.
Mobile food and drink traders have been invited to apply for catering concessions at five green spaces, including two in Northwich: Marbury Park and Shakerley Mere.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking operators to deliver high-quality, sustainable refreshments as part of its ongoing Parks and Open Spaces Strategy.
Other sites include Rivacre Valley in Ellesmere Port, Gresty’s Waste in Kelsall, and Sandy Lane in Chester.
Cllr Stuart Bingham, cabinet member for community safety and neighbourhood pride, said: "Our parks and green spaces play a vital role in the wellbeing of our communities, and we want them to feel safe, vibrant and welcoming for everyone.
"Introducing responsible, well-managed concessions helps create places where people want to spend time, while supporting local businesses and encouraging sustainable, high-quality food offers.
"We look forward to seeing applications from traders who share our values and commitment to our local environment."
The council says that regular, responsible trading can help create busier, more comfortable spaces, particularly for women, girls and families.
Tenders are open for daylight trading hours and can be submitted via The Chest, the council’s procurement portal.
Traders may apply for one or more sites.
Each concession will be let on a two-year contract, with an option for two extensions of one year each.
The council is prioritising traders who can demonstrate environmentally responsible practices, such as biodegradable packaging, locally sourced ingredients, and five-star food hygiene ratings.
Operators are expected to maintain a consistent presence during weekends, school holidays, and peak visitor periods.
Opportunities include the sale of hot and cold drinks, ice cream, snacks, and hot food, subject to site-specific conditions.
The council will also consider proposals for concessions at parks not listed in the current tender.
Interested businesses can contact serviceliaisonteam@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk with ideas or proposals.
All queries or clarification requests relating directly to the tender must be submitted through The Chest before the deadline of 10am on Tuesday, March 10.
